Stupidest corporate PR move I've seen in a long time. Just plain silly. The comments on Schwartz's blog are good reading.

Sun Changes Stock Symbol From ‘SUNW’ to ‘JAVA’: "

Apparently they couldn’t find a four-character symbol that stood for ‘shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic’. (SDCT?)

Fake Steve Jobs joins in with this post about even more big changes at SUN. FSJ calls Schwartz "My Little Pony."

Or perhaps "SUNK" was taken? Like several of the posters, I associate java with being slow and needing frequent security updates.

Maybe they'll change it to RUBY next year...

The FSJ blog is hilarious. Another episode of MLP. - jim
